Women in Sailing 30 Nov

Can you spare some time?

Mount Martha have been successful in getting a COG grant and are running their women’s program again this year but they need your help !

They have 2 Women’s Come and Try sailing days on the 9th and 23rd December to start the program and are looking for some volunteer female skippers to take people out .

They have some demo RS boats, 6 pacers and also some WASZPs for more experienced sailors to have a go!
They will be out on the water from 10-12 pm and can get the boats rigged and de- rigged for you.

If anyone can come down and help Roellen out on either the 9th and 23rd December she would be very grateful.
Email Roellen at r.gillmore@hotmail.com if you are able to help.

Port Phillip Womens Championship

The Notice of Series for the Port Phillip Womens Championship Series is now available with the first race hosted by Hobsons Bay coming up on Sunday 2 December.  For the first time this year series entry is being offered at $120 for the series.  The five races can also be entered individually.

It would be great to see more boats from Royals participating this year. While the aim is to get as many females out sailing as possible, the minimum requirement for most races is that the helm is female.  If you are a boat owner that regularly has girls crewing, please think about giving the helm over to one of your female crew for these 5 races.  You can of course still be on board to provide mentoring, and be out enjoying sail.
