Winners are the final grinners and Royal Yacht Club of Victoria’s sincerest congratulations go to our ever-grinning Royals Member, Catherine North, for completing her first full world circumnavigation and taking out the overall win in the Clipper Round The World Race 2017-2018 on board Sanya Serenity Coast.
History was made in Liverpool last weekend when Australian Skipper Wendy Tuck became the first woman to ever win a round the world yacht race after leading her Sanya Serenity Coast crew to clinch overall victory in the Clipper 2017-18 Race with Catherine alongside her all the way.
Despite not winning the final sprint home, it was Sanya Serenity Coast that managed to hold the overall lead and, in an additional win for women’s sport, second place overall went to British Skipper Nikki Henderson on Visit Seattle.
The full wrap-up and results and other news can be read on the Clipper Round the World
