Australian Sailing is pleased to announce the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria (RYCV) has been chosen as the host club for the 2019 and 2020 Victorian School Team Sailing State Championships.

RYCV won the tender for the event based on their race management expertise and impressive city skyline backdrop. The club’s Race Director David Le Roy is the current Australian Sailing Victorian Race Officer of the Year; RYCV is also the host of the 2020 World Cadet Championships.

Founded in 1853, RYCV is one of Australia’s oldest clubs. The club has over 800 members and an impressive volunteer culture that will greatly benefit the students competing over the next two years.

John Duffin, Commodore of RYCV believes “this is a great opportunity for schools to engage in some  close racing on the waters of Hobsons Bay. The club looks forward to welcoming competitors, friends and family,” says John Duffin.

The event will take place from the 28th to 30th of March 2019 with 230 students expected to be competing.
